The Centre WCO was established in February 2006 and its objective is to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at national and local levels by providing specialist support, multisectoral, technically and politically to African countries' West and Central.
The Centre's activities are focused on two scales:
The national level, support for the process of national planning and implementation related to the achievement of MDGs; and The local level, by the Millennium Villages Project and the Millennium Cities initiative to help towns and villages African pilots to get out themselves from the poverty trap and achieve all the MDGs.
